Ok, I am again going to attempt to do a
Pleated Poppy
What I Wore Wednesday Post!
Here we go...
I almost did not take a photo this day because I was ashamed that nothing I was wearing was thrifted...
but my shoes are DIY saddle oxfords, so I guess I felt like that counted as something.
When most people might feel ashamed wearing thrifted clothes,
I feel ashamed not wearing them!
Plaid Shirt- Old Navy
Green shorts- Target
Shoes- WalMart white shoes painted like Saddle Oxfords
My husband, Shannon, found this beautiful vintage dress
in his prop closet. He brought it home to me to try on and I love it!
I felt like a princess in it.
Although I did not really wear it out...
I am dreaming of the day I will.
Cropped Jacket- Thrift Store/ Goodwill
Mauve Top- Goodwill
Pants- Old Navy
Cropped Cardigan- Good Will
Purple Tee- Goodwill
Skirt- Goodwill
Tights- Walmart
I love this outfit for some reason! I just felt like ME in it!
I just got this tee and vest from Goodwill the previous day.
I love them together.
The skirt is a previous find at Goodwill.
Shoes from Payless.

Tabitha! I am so glad I found your site. I adore vintage and thrifted "treasures". They must attract me because I remember always wanting clothes or shoes that I could not afford. When someone donates or resales their personal items, especially women, I really believe they want someone else to have a "crack" at them. I go through my clothes and donate them sometimes because I haven't worn them. I think someone should be. I can't believe the dress your husband found and the shoes that you are wearing with them. It is fabulous and you should absoloutely wear it out!!!! I also bring things home and put them on and think, I can't wear this out. I recycle them if I just can't bring myself to wear it. Some should. I love your style and I am crazy about saddle oxfords. I feel my personality wants me to wear my own style. I can't seem to find what goes with my oxfords. I find them in the men's department at second hand stores. Your idea about painting the shoes is great!!!!! I think I will try it. I have a nice Christmas party to go to and I wish I could wear heels but I can't. I have bad feet problems. I want to wear a pretty dress and the comfortable oxfords. You have inspired me. Thank you, I am scared but I'm going to make myself do it! I am into wearing skirts and dresses as I am getting older and don't feel very feminine anymore. This is a way for my to feel girl-ish again.
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you NotSoGirly! Just wear what you like and forget what others think. As long as you dig it, that is what is important. Have fun being a girl.. or a not so girly girl! whatever floats your boat. go sailing!
