Yarn Wall Hangings

Collect the colors you want.
I am doing one for my art classroom and one for my home.

I found sticks from outside and painted them gold.

Begin by cutting a group of strings all the same length. They need to be twice as long as you want them to hang, because you will fold them in half to get them attached to the stick .

The string below was vert thick, so I wrapped one at a time around the stick.

Here's how you loop around.

looping it around the stick...
fold string in half.
lay fold under stick.
bring ends up and pull through the folded loop.
pull ends through loop until tight.
let the ends hand down.

If the string was super thin, I had to put many together to look through the stick like a group.

Our 316 Home

THE HOUSE BEFORE

This 1907 Craftsman Bungalow has been in my vision for 15 years
here in our little town of Mineola, Texas.
I've taken the long way home just to drive by it on my way through town for a while.
I admired the large luscious yard, beautiful wrapped porch and sturdy columns.
It has a very unique charm that is a true treasure to me.

HOUSE INSPIRED

My cup runneth over. He gives us more than we need, more than we imagined.
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,and
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
MY CUP OVERFLOWS!
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Luke 6:37 “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; 38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, RUNNING OVER, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
Proverb 3:9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Animal Jars

My daughter, Maddy, absolutely LOVES slime and puddy.
It gets so annoying with the ugly packiging they come with. They I store them where nobody can see them and they lean over, open up and leak everywhere! UG!
So, I saw this idea on the internet and decided to do it.
We got slime stuff from the Family Dollar and Dollar General.
We dediced to make a "slime parfait" for my daughters' friend's birthday.
We layer the slime in an old pickle jar and glue a plastic animal from the Dollar Store onto the lid. Then we spray painted the lids with animals attached gold and pink.
The gold did great. THe pink (not sure if it was the brand) did not cover well, but I used the spray as more of a base. I had to use pink acrylic paint later to cover the pink better.

Maddy was my slime mixing tester.
She mixed modle magic, styro bead foam and fart slime in one.

I used the model magic on the top to make it look like whipped cream for her friend. WE added plastic beads too to make it look like sprinkles.

Looked lots better after I touched up with Apple Barrel pink.
