About Me...

The best way to get to know somebody is through 20 questions...
so here we go!

1. What is your favorite food?
My favorite savory food would have to be anything with tomatoes, cheese, and more cheese.
My favorite sweet food would be banana pudding ice cream.

2. What is your favorite movie?
Pretty in Pink, How to Make an American Quilt, Parent Trap, The Mirror has Two Faces, Father of the Bride, Teen Witch, Ghost World, Mermaids, Overboard, ... to name a few.

3. What is your favorite song?
That changes weekly, but if i had to choose one to represent my life...
Legacy by Nichole Nordeman

4. If you were an animal, what would you be?
A deer. They are so graceful and peaceful to me...
I have a collection

5. What was the first album you bought?

Cyndi Lauper's True Colors. Still love it!

6. What was your first job?

Worked at ROSS Dress for Less as a fitting room attendant.

7. What is your current job?

I teach Art to middle schoolers.
It is really a dream! minus the discipline.

 8. If you could give the world one piece of advice, what would it be?

Always enjoy where you are right this minute instead of dwelling on the past or wanting the future.
Take photographs with your heart of the moment you are in and record them there to always come back to.

9.) What do you value most in other people?

Genuine Sincerity.
Fake people are my biggest pet peeve.
10.) If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Well, I always thought I would change my ADDish ways. I cannot multi-task to save my life.
I start one things, then another, and they I am off in LaLa Land forgetting what I was doing in the first place.
BUT, now I believe that God knew what he was doing when He created me the way he did.
So, I guess what I would change is the ability to accept that and just be happy with myself.

11.) What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

Publish all my books.

12.) What is the best advice you've ever given and received?

"The real you is more interesting than the fake somebody else".
Lauren Hill

13. What is one thing you want to do before you die?

JUST ONE!? I have conveniently made a bucket list in the past...
Here it is!
add taste chocolate covered bacon and spicy Mayan chocolate
add be every hair color imaginable

14.) How would you like to die?

Paint a beautiful picture for my Father, sit in front of it pleased, and take my last peaceful breath with a smile.

15. If there is a room for you in Heaven, what will it be like?

I hope it has lots of windows made of colorful stained glass going all the way around it,
a big open window above to let in God's light,
A big giant table in the middle filled with every art supply I could ever use,
with a never ending supply of cheese puffs and dark chocolate,

Still 5 questions left...
Why don't you ask me one?
I will answer it.

  1. Have you tried to publish all your books? I ask because I tried to publish one book and gave up. It was a few years ago a 1st grade teacher friend wrote it and I did the illustrations, we didn't get anywhere with the book. Now I want to try again!

    1. I have dabbled in trying to publish my Mindy books one with 2 people, then my Lost Sock book with one. None worked out. I know I could try more, but it is a dream I have. I am working on if it is what God really wants for me and my books. As long as I am using them in my own life, I think that is what he desires. But, I would love to one day get them all published wherever and whenever God leads me there. I really don't want to go the vanity route. Good luck with your books too. All we can do is try, right? Just be careful of who you trust and find somebody interested in you and your book, and not your money.

  2. Hey! I love your thoughts and travels through your journey of Faith. Truly beautiful, sincere and a blessing to read. I also really love your art. Same as your words... very heartwarming and spirit lifting. I'm an art teacher as well and happened to stumble across what looks like one of your projects that grabbed my attention. I think every artist/art teacher has a favorite to teach... What's yours?
